Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Do you need a Doctor's order to get therapy started? image of pediatric patient developing fine motor skills
A. A prescription from your pediatrician or the specialist that referred you is needed.
Q. How often do you have to come?
A. The visits are once a week, but can be more often, as indicated by the therapist.
Q. How long is each session?

A. Each session is generally an hour long. Evaluations can run longer, or a visit can run shorter, depending on the child's tolerance.

Q. Can the parent/guardian participate/observe in the session?
A. We encourage the parent/guardian to engage in the therapy session. Often, this is when the parent learns ways to carry over the treatment in the home.
Q. Can you bring other children to the appointment?
A. You may bring other siblings, but please provide something to occupy their time. They are occasionally allowed in the session with the parent/guardian, but can be a distraction.
